With its stunning beaches, laid-back vibe, and vibrant creative scene, Byron Bay provides the perfect backdrop for a three-day, three-night celebration of Lindy Hop, connection, and pure joy.

💃 What Is BBLX?

Byron Bay Lindy Exchange (BBLX) is a three-day multicultural festival celebrating the rich African American heritage of Lindy Hop, swing dance and jazz music while fostering intercultural understanding, social cohesion and community connection.

Presented in partnership with Beauties Feeling Fabulous Inc., the festival brings together participants from across Australia and overseas to share in a vibrant cultural exchange through music, dance, education and community experiences. Rooted in the traditions of the Harlem Renaissance and the birthplace of Lindy Hop, BBLX honours the cultural origins of this globally celebrated art form while creating welcoming opportunities for people of all ages, abilities and cultural backgrounds to participate.

The festival program includes live swing bands, social dances, dance workshops, cultural talks and historical storytelling, community dance classes, family-friendly activities, outdoor community gatherings and performances by local and interstate artists. Participants are encouraged to connect with new people, exchange cultures and traditions, and experience the inclusive spirit of the global Lindy Hop community.

Held in Byron Bay, the festival actively partners with local venues, musicians, hospitality businesses, accommodation providers and suppliers, generating economic benefits for the region while showcasing the area’s unique cultural and tourism offerings.
